We are posting this as an idea of what could be done with the property

Welcome to The Drunken Apple
Wales’s newest cider-exclusive pub — inspired by the orchards and traditions of the English countryside.
Our Story Begins in the UK
The idea behind The Drunken Apple stems from the lifelong passion of Steve Perrott, whose roots trace back to the rolling orchards, heritage cider farms, and traditional pubs of the United Kingdom. Having grown up surrounded by real cider culture, Steve witnessed the transformation of cider from a rustic, local drink into a refined, world-class craft enjoyed by enthusiasts everywhere.
In Britain, cider isn’t just a drink — it’s part of the landscape. From the legendary blends of Somerset to the crisp Suffolk drys, each region tells its own story through its apples. Steve grew up visiting cider presses, talking to makers, and absorbing the rich pub culture that celebrates good company and proper drinks.
The Rise of Cider Culture
Over the past two decades, cider has experienced a renaissance. Once seen as a humble country refreshment, it’s now embraced by a modern generation who value craftsmanship, authenticity, and regional character.
This movement has helped establish cider as a drink of creativity and diversity — sparkling, still, dry, sweet, keeved, single-varietal, and oak-aged. With cider houses across the UK pushing innovation and quality, the stage was perfectly set for something truly special.
Opening Soon!!
We are proud to announce that The Drunken Apple is officially opening in the heart of Pontypridd Road, Porth — one of the town’s liveliest and most iconic locations.
Surrounded by the river it is the perfect home for a cider-first concept. Here, we aim to bring together locals, students, visitors, and cider lovers from around the world to celebrate the craft, culture, and comfort of real British cider.
Inside, guests will enjoy a curated selection of eight premium ciders on tap alongside our house favourite: “One More”, a beautifully balanced cider inspired by traditional techniques. Paired with classic British pub dishes — Cornish pasties, pork pies, Scotch eggs, and Ploughman’s platters — The Drunken Apple offers a true taste of home in the centre of Porth.
Why Porth?
Close proximity to local amenities and transport links. Attractive riverside aspect to the rear of pub experience — one that celebrates the heritage of cider in a fresh, modern way.
